East Avenue

This section of the South East is known as the Historical and Cultural District and is rich in history with gems such as the George Eastman House, the most well-known house on the avenue that sits with Italianate mansions and Georgian Revivals with cupolas on top and carriage houses in back. East Avenue is a preservation district that contains some of the most distinctive late 19th and early 20th century residential architecture in New York State, and is also well known for its landscaping. East Avenue is Rochester's most elegant street.

The residents of East Avenue share pride of ownership and a belief in restoration and preservation.
